Class

At the B2 level, learners achieve a significant degree of communicative autonomy. It is no longer just about "surviving" in everyday situations, but about interacting naturally, expressing complex opinions, and understanding articulate texts and speech, even on unfamiliar topics.

Listening Skills

• Understanding the main ideas of complex speech on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in one's field of specialization.
• Following lectures, presentations, and complex arguments, provided the topic is reasonably familiar.
• Understanding most TV news, programs, podcasts, and films in standard language (without subtitles).

Speaking Skills

• Interacting with native speakers with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction quite possible without strain for either party.
• Taking an active part in discussions in familiar contexts, accounting for and sustaining your opinions, evaluating alternatives, and outlining advantages and disadvantages.
• Presenting clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to your fields of interest, developing a logical argument.

Reading Skills

• Reading and understanding articles, reports, and contemporary essays in which the writers adopt particular attitudes or viewpoints.
• Understanding contemporary literary prose (novels and short stories that are not overly complex).
• Scanning quickly through long and complex texts to locate relevant details and grasp the overall meaning.

Writing Skills

• Writing clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects related to your interests.
• Drafting essays, formal letters, business emails, or reports, passing on information or giving reasons in support of or against a particular point of view.
• Synthesizing information and arguments from a variety of written or oral sources.

Vocabulary

• Vocabulary: Significant expansion of lexicon, including idiomatic expressions, common idioms, metaphors, and specific terms related to current events, politics, society, and work.

Cultural Awareness

• Understanding cultural nuances in social behavior, humor, and linguistic registers (knowing exactly when to use the informal "Tu" versus the formal "Lei" in complex settings).
• Awareness of main current events, socio-political debates in Italy, and widespread historical and popculture references.
